ScriptureGenesis 1:27   Question: How and why did God create us?
Answer: God created us male and female in his own image to know him, love him, live with him, and glorify him. And it is right that we who were created by God should live to his glory.Listen to last week’s sermon HERE

Further questions for reflection:

  • In what ways does a work of art or music reflect something of the artist?
  • What are all the ways we are “created in the image of God?”
  • Read all of Genesis 1. What other insights do you gain into how and why God created humanity?  How is our view of humanity both exalted and humbled?
  • Q&A #1 of the Westminster Catechism is: Q. What is the chief end of humanity? A. Humanity’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.
    • Read 2 Corinthians 3:18 & Ephesians 4:10.
    • How might you reflect the glory of God, as one created in God’s image, in your work tomorrow? Among your neighbors this weekend? With your friends and family?

We will take pictures of the participants and get paragraph statements from them about their love of the Bean or the neighborhood or the project, and display them next to their finished pieces.

CG2017: You’re Invited!

At Made to Flourish, we believe the local church can serve as a primary agent of cultural renewal for the common good. The church, as God designed it, is the hope of the world! But what does it look like for the church, gathered and scattered, to be agents of hope and peace in our cities, our neighborhoods, and our workplaces?

On Friday, October 13, we will explore this question together. Speakers include Andy Crouch, Tom Nelson, Amy Sherman, Chris Brooks, Svetlana Papazov, and a number of local leaders from Seattle (including our own Summer Mohrlang!). Click HERE for more information on our local line-up.

Watch and listen to Andy Crouch talk about why the conversation at cg2017 is so important.
