Spending Time in the Word

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (TNIV)

We believe the Bible is the Word of God, written by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It contains an account of God’s relationship with and pursuit of God’s chosen people as well as the Good News that God has sent his only son to save us from our sin. The Bible itself tells us that it contains everything necessary for salvation and guides us in the life of faith.

We desire to be deeply rooted in the truths of Scripture at Sanctuary. Our hope is that Bible would be central in our corporate worship but also that each person who calls Sanctuary home would be consistently spending time reading and being transformed by Scripture in their private lives and with a small group community.

TNIV Scripture for Friday, July 30, 2010 [Colossians 3:15-17]
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:15-17 TNIV Bible
