Spending Time in the Word

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (TNIV)

We believe the Bible is the Word of God, written by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It contains an account of God’s relationship with and pursuit of God’s chosen people as well as the Good News that God has sent his only son to save us from our sin. The Bible itself tells us that it contains everything necessary for salvation and guides us in the life of faith.

We desire to be deeply rooted in the truths of Scripture at Sanctuary. Our hope is that Bible would be central in our corporate worship but also that each person who calls Sanctuary home would be consistently spending time reading and being transformed by Scripture in their private lives and with a small group community.

TNIV Scripture for Tuesday, August 19, 2008 [Psalm 19:8-11]
The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the LORD are sure, and all of them are righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb. By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward. Psalm 19:8-11 TNIV Bible
