  Scripture2 Corinthians 13:14

Question: How many persons are there in God?
Answer: There are three persons in the one true and living God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are the same in substance, equal in power and glory.

Further questions for reflection:

  • What were you taught concerning the trinity growing up? What were you taught about its importance to your faith?
  • What do we learn about the persons of the Trinity and from Paul’s greeting in 2 Corinthians 13:14?
  • What can we learn about God from the fact that He exists in relationship? (See 1 John 4:7-8)
  • Read John 14-17.  Print it out and highlight all the places where Jesus is talking to or about the Father or the Spirit/Advocate. These are some of Jesus’ last words to his disciples. Why do you think so much of it is oriented around the Trinity? What insights into the Trinity do you gain from this passage?
  • How do we practically live out this doctrine?  How will you live it out this next week?

For the month of November, the Green Bean will be displaying collaborative community art work! What does this mean? We will have 3 meetings, in October, at the Bean with paint and canvas ready for neighbors to get together and team up and create a piece of art together. We will take pictures of the participants and get paragraph statements from them about their love of the Bean or the neighborhood or the project, and display them next to their finished pieces.

Day 1: Sunday, Oct 8 @ 1-2pm
Day 2: Thursday, Oct 12 @ 10-11am
Day 3: Tuesday, Oct 17 @ 5-6pm

CG2017: You’re Invited!

At Made to Flourish, we believe the local church can serve as a primary agent of cultural renewal for the common good. The church, as God designed it, is the hope of the world! But what does it look like for the church, gathered and scattered, to be agents of hope and peace in our cities, our neighborhoods, and our workplaces?

On Friday, October 13, we will explore this question together. Speakers include Andy Crouch, Tom Nelson, Amy Sherman, Chris Brooks, Svetlana Papazov, and a number of local leaders from Seattle (including our own Summer Mohrlang!). Click HERE for more information on our local line-up.

Watch and listen to Andy Crouch talk about why the conversation at cg2017 is so important.
