You may have heard some buzz around Sanctuary about the Cascade Fellows. So what is it all about? This partnership with Fuller Seminary is aimed at young professionals and will be kicking off in September. A small cohort of us will be meeting weekly to learn and discuss how our vocations and faith interact and how to make the gospel relevant in our day-to-day working lives. There will also be monthly group gatherings with cohorts from other area churches which include an exciting lineup of speakers who are experts in business, theology, and everything in between.

As a member of the Sanctuary cohort, I’m grateful that Sanctuary is offering such a unique and exciting opportunity. Despite the fact that I love working as an engineer and find fulfillment and purpose in my career, it’s still so easy to get burned out and forget that even the workplace is a mission field and an opportunity to bring glory to Christ. I am excited to have the support, encouragement, and accountability of other professionals in the Cascade Fellows, as well as mentoring from those with much more experience than I have in the corporate world. I’m also excited about the speakers that we’ll be hearing from throughout the 9-month program. The wealth of knowledge that these folks have to offer is a great learning opportunity. I hope that I am challenged and that through this experience I will grow in my dedication to both my faith and my vocation. I pray that I will be able to put everything I learn into practice in ways that will have positive impacts in my relationships with coworkers and in the broader engineering community of which I am a part. I am also praying that this program will impact our Sanctuary community and that we as a church will learn to better glorify God and serve Seattle through our daily work.
